पुरा दुनिया में चिरइन के लगभग 10,000 प्रजाति पावल जालीं। [[भारत की चिरइन के लिस्ट|भारत में]] इनहन के लगभग 1,314 गो प्रजाति रिकार्ड कइल गइल बाटे। इन्हन में से 42 गो देसी, 1 गो बाहर से आदमिन द्वारा ले आइल, आ करीब 25 गो यदा-कदा आ बहुत कम पावाल जाये वाली बाडीं। दू गो प्रजाति अबले भारत से बिलुप्त हो चुकल बाड़ीं आ 82 गो प्रजाति अइसन बाड़ीं जिनहन पर पुरा बिस्व भर में खतरा मँडरात बाटे।
