पर- आ पॉलीफ्लोरॉल्किल पदार्थ (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) सिंथेटिक ऑर्गैनोफ्लोराइन केमिकल कंपाउंड हवें जिनहन में कौनों एगो अल्किल चेन से फ्लोरीन के परमाणु जुड़ल रहे लें। मतलब कि, इनहन में कम से कम एक ठो परफ्लोरॉल्किल म्वाइटी (moiety) –C_nF_2n– जरूर मौजूद होखे ला। ऑर्गेनाइजेशन फॉर इकोनॉमिक को-ऑपरेशन एंड डेवेलपमेंट (OECD) के अनुसार:

PFASs are defined as fluorinated substances that contain at least one fully fluorinated methyl or methylene carbon atom (without any H/Cl/Br/I atom attached to it), i.e. with a few noted exceptions, any chemical with at least a perfluorinated methyl group (–CF₃) or a perfluorinated methylene group (–CF₂–) is a PFAS.

पर्यावरणी परभाव आ नोकसान के आँकलन के चलते इनहन के लमहर समय ले न टूटे वाला संरचना आ खतरनाक इस्थिति के कारण इनहन के हमेशा रहे वाला केमिकल (फॉरेवर केमिकल्स - forever chemicals) भी कहल जाला।
