English: The Bulgarian Martyresses is an 1877 painting by Konstantin Makovsky depicting atrocities against Bulgarian women and children by Ottoman bashi-bazouks during the 1876 Bulgarian April Uprising. After hearing accounts of the violence while travelling in the Balkans, Makovsky exhibited the work in Saint Petersburg, intending its sale proceeds to aid those affected; his wife, Yulia Lyatkova, posed for the central female figure.

Čeština: Bulharské mučednice jsou obraz Konstantina Makovského z roku 1877, zachycující krutosti páchané na bulharských ženách a dětech osmanskými baši-bazouky během bulharského dubnového povstání roku 1876. Poté, co Makovskij během cest po Balkánu vyslechl zprávy o násilí, vystavil dílo v Petrohradě se záměrem věnovat výtěžek z prodeje na pomoc postiženým; pro ústřední ženskou postavu mu pózovala jeho manželka Julie Ljatková.
