बिबरणMap of Ayutthaya (Judia) Golden Age by Francois Valentijn 1726.png
English: Map of Ayutthaya during the golden age in 1726. The Dutch title in the top "Judia, de Hoofd-Stad van Siam". It was illustrated by Francois Valentijn (1666 - 1727). He was a missionary, printer, and author. He was among the first to publish on the history and management of the VOC (Dutch East India Company) in the East Indies.

The top-side is north. The city is situated in the Chao Phraya river (aka Menam). There are Buddhist temples, monasteries, palaces, Thai-style stupas and residential houses. There is much greenery throughout the city. A grand canal bisects the city with multiple subsidiary canals. There is a city wall for defense against the Burmese. The populated suburbs around the island are not depicted on this map. It is a faithful presentation of Ayutthaya at its height just decades before the sacking by a Burmese army in 1767.

The map illustrates Ayutthaya City at its peak when it was one of the world's largest, wealthiest and cosmopolitan during a golden age of Siam (Thailand). There were merchants from various places in Asia, Europe and the Middle-East. Few Europeans had contact with Ayutthaya, because the French and other Europeans were banned from the Kingdom in 1688, leaving only the Dutch with a tenuous presence.

This map was published in 1726 to illustrate Valentijn's Oud en Nieuw Oost-Indien. There are only three examples in OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), at the British Library, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and Harvard). Note: Ayutthaya had multiple names and spellings such as Iudia, Iudea, Iudiad, and Judia.
