English: DPIO(E)/March,54,A31pThe pro-merger movement in the French Settlements is gaining grounds day by day. Despite harassment by the French Police, people in large numbers are carrying on a non-violent campaign for merger of these areas with India. Photo shows a gathering in a French commune moving along with volunteers (in the lorries) demanding freedom from alien rule. Volunteers in large numbers have gone to neighbouring villages to appeal to the villagers to join in the struggle for freedom from foreign domination. Photo Number:-37913
