Deutsch: Das Vivekananda Rock Memorial ist ein heiliges Denkmal und eine beliebte Touristenattraktion in Vavathurai, Kanyakumari, Indien. Das Denkmal steht auf einem von zwei Felsen, die sich etwa 500 Meter vom Festland von Vavathurai, der südlichsten Spitze Indiens, entfernt befinden. Es wurde zu Ehren von Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) gebaut, der auf dem Felsen die Erleuchtung erlangt haben soll.
English: Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a sacred monument and popular tourist attraction in Vavathurai, Kanyakumari, India. The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters off mainland of Vavathurai, India's southernmost tip. It was built in honour of Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902), who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock. |
