Bhimavaram Junction railway station (station code:[1]) is located in Bhimavaram of West Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It belongs to South Coast Railway zone under Vijayawada railway division.[2]

The then meter gauge line was upgraded to broad gauge in 1961.[3] GDV-BVRM Broad gauge railway opened by Jagjivan Ram Railway Minister on 8 October 1961.
Classification[edit | edit source]
In terms of earnings and outward passengers handled, Bhimavaram Junction is categorized as a Non-Suburban Grade-4 (NSG-4) railway station.[4] Based on the reācategorization of Indian Railway stations for the period of 2017ā18 and 2022ā23, an NSGā4 category station earns between ā¹10āā¹20 crore and handles 2ā5 million passengers.[5]

It is one of the 38 stations in the division to be equipped with Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs).[6]
