Professor of history John Cady (1901–1996) taught at Ohio University from 1949-1971. He was an expert on Southeast Asia and the first recipient of OU's Distinguished Professor award in 1959. Cady House, a dorm in South Green, was named in his honor in the year of his retirement, 1971.[1]
